Bunnings have been a long time importer of merchandise. But when they wanted to import plant related materials such as peat moss & mulch it presented them with many different problems relating to quarantine. Semtec was appointed to handle the importation which required us to liaise closely with the manufacturers to make sure we could qualify the product to be imported into Australia. The project required two months of planning prior to placing the first order. Planning being the key to the shipments success.
When Boeing commenced manufacturing the 777 they decided to utilise their Melbourne factory for the manufacture of the wing assembly. To achieve this, Boeing Melbourne required to upgrade their facility with six new autoclaves from USA. Each autoclave weighed 30 tonnes and were oversized to fit on standard trucks. With our detailed skills in project managing, Semtec were given the task to coordinate the shipping from door to door. Due to their oversize, the six autoclaves were chartered to a vessel and discharged at a private port requiring specialised cranes and trucks for the ground transport. The entire consignment was delivered on time and budget without any damage.
When the loom band craze commenced in 2014 the entire retail world were fighting for supply of this product. Our close relationship with the Chinese airlines allowed us a daily allocation of space to keep up with our client’s factory orders. Over 300 tonnes of product where shipped during the craze which lasted less than 6 months. Without the airline allocation, the client would need to rely on seafreight which would not have met the timeline of the craze.

Our company commenced in 1996 with our director personally doing deliveries to his first customer at the humble age of 18. We have since grown into a global organisation with over 100 agents across the globe, truly proving our force in the industry.
